Built in 1924, the original Sprouse‐Reitz building housed the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, and later, the famous discount general store, Sprouse‐Reitz.
Sprouse‐Reitz was what you might call the dollar store of its day ‐‐ boasting that nothing in the store cost more than 49 cents. Since then, the space has been home to a lingerie store and the famous Coach & Willies. The building is included as a contributing structure of Chandler’s Commercial Historic District as listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
